MINI TOMATO PIZZA BRAIDS

A classic favourite with both kids and adults!

Let's start by making the pizza sauce. Heat 1/2 tbsp of olive oil in a lidded pan. Slice the San Marzano tomatoes and 1 clove of garlic. Add to the oil, turn the heat up and allow to cook down for 10mins, stirring regularly. Turn the heat down and simmer for another 10mins. Season well with sea salt and black pepper. Transfer to a blender and mix until smooth. Set aside.

Finely cube the tomatoes and red pepper. Thinly slice the raw ham.

 

Cut squares of the pizza dough, and score three columns in the dough. In the middle column, layer the fresh veg and meat. Make even cuts in the dough on either side of the veg. Alternating between pieces of dough from the left and right sides, braid the dough over the ingredients.

TIP: the pizza sauce freezes well, so make a large batch and freeze some for later. This sauce is also delicious with pasta, gnocchi, or even as a dip!

2 Intense tomatoes

1 red pepper

2 slices of raw ham​​

4 San Marzano tomatoes

1 clove garlic

1/2 tbsp olive oil

Pinch of cayenne pepper

Sea salt & black pepper
